Merchants appreciate this app for its user-friendly interface, easy setup, and seamless integration with Shopify. The app is pretty fine, easy enough to use and customize. We really liked it for a while.
HOWEVER, we realized that when our customers click the button to earn points for certain tasks (ie follow us on insta, or like our fb page) smile IMMEDIATELY rewards the reward points, upon clicking the button.
I was testing it out and got a reward point email from them before the new browser with our instagram was even done loading.
I reached out to support and they explained due to certain laws there is no way for them to verify if users actually follow through with the actions, but they believe that most people do.
Alright, thats totally fine, but can you please implement a delay in sending the email/ awarding the points? like a 5 or 10m delay in that email being sent would give the individual a moment to actually go ahead and follow through, and they are WAY more likely to do it that way.

Update: I was able to deactivate the auto email, while this is better than nothing, it would be great if they could introduce a delay option!

You are correct that we aren't able to verify the social actions before awarding points since Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram don't allow 3rd party apps like Smile to track user data. We understand that this isn't ideal and hope that these sites will allow us to track in the future.

While it isn't possible to delay the points earning at the moment, we did add it as a feature request for our product team to look into. Our Product Team takes merchant requests seriously, and hopefully this is something we can come up with a better solution for.

I like this rewards programm very much, the costumer support was always very helpful. The free plan has already a lot to offer! The only thing I miss is that there can not be a individually customized and tracked referral discount code, only the option with a referral link. They already explained to me why it's not possible with the code, but I still think it would be a good option.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad that you are getting a lot of value out of the Free Plan, and our support is always helpful :)

We take merchant requests very seriously, so we appreciate your feedback about the referral links. Unfortunately, giving out referral discount codes rather than referral links, would leave your store vulnerable to referral fraud and self referrals, since discount codes can be shared.

The other good thing about the links, is that it they bring customers to your website directly, which increases referral conversion, since it places shoppers right where they can order! With a discount code, this wouldn't happen. It relies on your customers to also share the website properly, which doesn't always happen.

I've reached out to you personally to offer a call where we can go over some ways to make referrals even easier for your customers, and hear any additional feedback you may have.

I am leaving a 1-star review due to the extremely poor level of customer support that Smile offers. Unlike other apps, the Smile support team will try to help with the least possible effort, and will never actually be willing to login to a Shopify store to assist with the app's implementation or code (i.e. through a collaborator link or staff account login).
All the support team will do is send you one of their trained reply templates to provide a help article. We wanted to show the Smile launcher on only one page of our website, but were told that this was not possible. We would have to 'exclude' every single page on our website to be able to do this. There is no option in the app to only 'include' certain URLs to display the launcher. This is not helpful at all. Additionally, we found through the support team that certain features of the Smile app are only available to people depending on when the account was created. For example, they currently offer different ways the launcher can be displayed on mobile - but only for new accounts. Because we have an older account, the team refuses to give this option to us. This is extremely bizarre and not logical at all. Seriously Smile - for the amount that you charge merchants to use your program, you really need to improve your customer support and allow more customization for merchants.

I truly understand the frustration these issues caused. I'm going to carefully look into the problems you highlighted and reach out privately to try and resolve these concerns.

Customer service is incredibly important to us and we always try and offer the best advice and support that we possibly can. Some things are outside our control but we will always try and offer workarounds and solutions. We will never refuse to offer a feature if it is available and we are currently looking at ways to offer the visibility option to you we are just waiting to see how we can add you to the control group.

Very easy to set up! I decided on the smallest upgrade so we can use our logo. I had a couple of questions about setting up the customer emails. Nicole was fantastic in getting back to me quickly, only to learn that the program pretty well does all the filling in for you. Great customer service with a smile! (pun intended). We're excited about this Loyalty Program. Thank you!

We've loved using Smile for our Rewards Program platform, it's easy to use not just for customers but for us as well on the back end. The customer service is quick, friendly, and helpful while getting the information across in an easy-to-understand fashion. Jade was extremely helpful in helping me make sure Smile was integrated properly into our other sales channels.

David was amazing in helping me to configure the app and get it to do some really cool stuff using Shopify flow. It's great that they've built something simple that you can set up quickly and easily but then use Shopify flow to add many more customizations.

This app is wonderful! Easy to use and they have great support. Jade was so nice and she helped me with some updates following some business changes. It's so nice to know that you are supported within minutes of reaching out. I'm happy with the connections to social media where my customers can earn points for signing up or sharing my products and/or blogs on these platforms. :)

I just finished chatting with Nicole and I cannot begin to tell you how easy this set up was. Her instructions were seamless. She sent me video’s to show me where to navigate to what I needed to fix. Love the app! It's great :) my only note would be two things, automatic point integration of previous purchases by customers when integrating with your store, and second, I would have an email capability to email those customers what their points balance is. This is especially helpful for a store that didn't launch with a loyalty program but is creating one later and has a great customer base who would appreciate an email like this.
