Shop Cash offers

Shop Cash offers allow you to increase the value of a customer’s Shop Cash on your store. These offers can help you increase your sales to first-time customer sales on the Shop app.

When you create a Shop Cash offer, your offer is shown to potential new customers in theShop Cash offerssection of the Shop app, and you pay acquisition costs only for successful sales. Customers who have purchased from your store before won't be able to view your Shop Cash offer.

Eligibility for Shop Cash offers

Shop Cash offers are available only to stores that meet all of the following requirements:

Paying for Shop Cash offers

Each time an order is placed using a Shop Cash offer, charges are deducted from your Shopify Payments payout balance. This continues until your total campaign budget is reached. If your daily budget is reached and no rollover budget is available, then the campaign is paused for the rest of that day, and your budget refreshes the following day.

There's no prefunding required to create a Shop Cash offer. If your Shopify Payments payout balance has insufficient funds to cover the campaign charges, then the deduction is reattempted until the charges are successful. During this time, the Shop Cash portion of your order payout is withheld until the campaign fees are collected.

Understanding Shop Cash offer campaign budgets

When youcreate a Shop Cash offer, you need to set a budget.

Daily budget

YourDaily budgetis the total amount of money that you want to spend each day that your Shop Cash offer runs.

When you set a daily budget for your Shop Cash offer campaign, you should plan for your combined daily budget to be your average daily spend for the calendar week. If you don't reach your daily budget on a single day, then the remaining budget for the day is rolled over into subsequent days to optimize your Shop Cash offer campaign spend.

Shop Cash offer campaigns are rolled over from Sunday to Saturday each week, and the rollover amount is reset to 0 USD each Sunday. Your Shop Cash offer campaign spend will never exceed your total budget for a calendar week. For example, if your daily budget is 100 USD, then your campaign spend doesn't exceed 700 USD in total for the calendar week.

Cost per acquisition

TheCost per acquisitionis the maximum amount that you're willing to spend to acquire a new customer in one transaction. The Shop Cash value and acquisition fee combined won't exceed this amount for any one transaction.

Create a Shop Cash offer

Any staff member on your store who hasShop channel and marketing permissionscan create and manage Shop Cash offer campaigns. You can have one active campaign at a time.

Steps

  1. From your Shopify admin, clickSettings>Apps and sales channels.

  2. From theApps and sales channelspage, clickShop.

  3. ClickOpen sales channel.

  4. ClickMarketing, and then clickCreate campaign在右上角。

  5. Enter the name of your campaign.

  6. In theSchedulesection, enter the start date and time for your campaign to begin.

  7. Optional: To set an end time for your campaign, select theSet end datecheckbox.

  8. In theBudgetsection, complete theDaily budgetandCost per acquisitionfields.

  9. In the最小订单值field, fill in the minimum amount that customers need to spend in order to use a Shop Cash offer.

  11. Accept the terms and conditions, and then clickPublish.

Edit a Shop Cash offer campaign

After you create a Shop Cash offer campaign, you can make changes to your daily budget and campaign end date. You can't change the cost per acquisition after a campaign goes live. However, you can end a campaign at any time, and then create a new one.

Steps

  1. From your Shopify admin, clickSettings>Apps and sales channels.

  2. From theApps and sales channelspage, clickShop.

  3. ClickOpen sales channel.

  4. ClickMarketing, and then click your campaign.

  5. Do one of the following:

    • To change when your campaign ends, adjust theEnd dateorEnd timefield, and then clickSave.
    • To change your daily budget, enter the new amount in theDaily budgetfield, and then clickSave.
    • To pause the campaign, clickPause Campaign.
    • To end your campaign immediately, clickEnd campaign.
  6. Update the fields that you want to edit.

  7. ClickSave.

Advertising cost of sales The total advertising cost divided by total gross sales from Shop Cash offer campaigns, displayed as a percentage.
Cost per customer The total advertising cost divided by the total number of customers acquired from Shop Cash offer campaigns.

Advertise Shop Cash offers on Facebook and Instagram

If you selectAdvertise offer on Facebook & Instagramwhencreating a Shop Cash offer, then Shop might run ads promoting your Shop Cash offer through Shop'sFacebookandInstagramaccounts. Shop promotes Shop Cash offers only on Facebook and Instagram, and won't promote your offer on any other third-party channels. Shop Cash offers ads on Facebook and Instagram might include images and content of your products and brand from your Shopify store. Ad contents are managed by Shop, and you can't change how your Shop Cash offers ads display on Facebook or Instagram.

Shop Cash offers ads on Facebook and Instagram are paid for by Shop, and you aren't charged additional fees to advertise your Shop Cash offers. Shop Cash offer ads on Facebook and Instagram are activated on a per-offer basis, and you canopt out of advertising Shop Cash offers on Facebook and Instagramat any time.

Shop Cash giveaways

Shop Cash offer ads on Facebook and Instagram might include a co-branded giveaway, which lets a customer claim a small amount of free Shop Cash when they click on an ad for your Shop Cash offer.

Shop Cash giveaways encourage potential new customers to view your Shop Cash offer, while also providing them with Shop Cash to redeem towards your offer. Shop Cash giveaways are presented as being offered by your store, and the customer is redirected to your store in the Shop app after claiming their free Shop Cash.

Shop Cash giveaways are funded entirely by Shop, and are offered to customers at no extra cost to you.

Opt out of advertising Shop Cash offers on Facebook and Instagram

Advertise offer on Facebook & Instagramis selected by default when you create a Shop Cash offer. You can opt out of advertising on Facebook and Instagram by uncheckingAdvertise offer on Facebook & Instagramwhen you create a new offer.

If you want to uncheck the option on an active offer, then you canedit your Shop Cash offer, and uncheckAdvertise offer on Facebook & Instagram. After you opt out of advertising on an active Shop Cash offer, it takes up to 3 business days for your offer to stop being displayed on Facebook and Instagram.
